Project Objectives:


The overall objective of this activity is to bridge marine scientists and policymakers and improve how both will tackle maritime policies that can benefit from scientific understanding (science for policy); and policies that will improve the conduct or use of scientific research in the Philippines (policy for science). It is also the objective of this undertaking to:


  • Encourage mutual understanding between marine scientists, policy researchers, and policymakers;


  • Establish working links and communication lines between marine scientific community and policymaking sectors;


  • For policymakers and researchers to effectively utilize and develop science-based policy formulation related to their policy areas;


  • For marine scientists to be able to provide information and communicate scientific evidence and data to the policies pursued;


  • Gain an understanding of policy analysis and development process;


  • Identify priority policies that will benefit and encourage the conduct and use of high-quality and impactful marine scientific research;
